140th Afternoon Tea!

With my big birthday two days ago, and with her big birthday today, took C (a neighbour/family friend) out for afternoon tea at a nearby hotel. Together we were celebrating 140 years!! 

The food we were offered was amazing, and yes, I ate the whole lot! This was the vegetarian platter and every single morsel was delicious, as was the glass of bubbles. When the young waitress brought in the lit candles the other diners sang happy birthday to us, and when I told her that we were celebrating 140 years between us she was genuinely shocked; not because we didn’t look that old, but because at her young age we must’ve seemed like dinosaurs! 

Managed to get to the hotel in the dry but got very wet walking home. A muggy rainy day of 21 degrees, and it’s still a very muggy 19 at gone 9pm with an uncomfortable night ahead of us.

Great evening of Olympics Athletics action. Today’s GB medal tally: Gold in Women’s Kite Sailing. Bronze in Women’s Keirin Track Cycling.
