What a difference a day makes…
Woke up to lovely sunshine. Definite improvement on yesterday!
Coffee and croissants for breakfast and noted that they were the best croissants we’d had since our last holiday in France in 2015.
Set off out heading north west. D is playing golf with Withers’ better half Jim next week at Nefyn Golf Club so wanted to check out the route. Found it with ease and from the glimpse of the course we saw, it looks like a stunning coastal course. The wind could be a challenge! :-))
D and Jim are playing Royal St David’s course the following day, so that’s two days in a row I’ll be left to the mercy of that Withers woman!! #prayforme
Anyway, I digress.
Left Nefyn and found a nice place to have lunch. From there we headed to Trefor, a small village with an interesting history of granite quarrying, and is one of only two locations where this particular granite is found, the other being Ailsa Craig in Scotland.
The quarry closed in 1960 so the village is now much quieter. It has good access to a small beach and the coastal path and we spent some time there. My blip is the view from the path heading towards the small harbour.
From there we headed to Pwhelli, which I have to say looked much better in the sunshine than in the rain on Friday.
From there we headed back to Abersoch for the most delicious ice cream. Meeting up with another blip pal Karen and her husband Alan there later in the week for lunch at The Potted Lobster. Not seen Karen since she visited us in 2019 so looking forward to that.
Then on to Aberdaron to check out the dinner menu at the Ship Hotel, where Jane and Jim will be staying. Menu looks good so booked dinner there for the four of us on Sunday night.
Back to the holiday house and enjoyed an early supper of a lovely cheeseboard (large lunch negated the need for dinner) then a pleasant evening of reading, crochet, tv and snoozing.
This is a very relaxing holiday and I’m not complaining :-))
PS Having a lovely get together with two other blippers next week but I’ll keep that a surprise for now :-)))
