Aging disgracefully!

On entering my seventh decade today, I decided that I intend to age disgracefully! Prior to taking this photo, I asked N to take a pic of me jumping in the air to celebrate the day. The photo was hilarious but definitely not one for public viewing!!

Today turned out much better than I feared, in more ways than one. Visits from three friends this morning, afternoon and evening, and calls and messages from family and friends, from near and far. Then this afternoon a wonderfully relaxing afternoon at Dyrham Park, thanks to N, where we enjoyed a long and lazy picnic on the lawn in the shade of a tree. In fact we ate so much this afternoon and got home so late that neither of us can face the chocolate birthday cake or Champagne, so I’m saving them until tomorrow when I’ll also open the remainder of my presents.

My Olympic Games viewing has been limited to this evening but I did get to see today’s GB medal wins: Silver in Men’s Track Cycling Team Sprint and in Athletics Men’s 1500m. Bronze in Women’s Skateboarding.
