Preposterous date night
We decided on pizza and the cinema and went to our lovely little local state- of -the-art-house cinema, The Living Room in Liphook and watched Deadpool and Wolverine. My knowledge of the Marvel Universe is partial but a friend of ours is in it so we wanted to see it. It’s a blast, very funny and very violent but in a slapstick way. It’s also becomes quite annoying and goes on too long (I fell asleep at one point, very refreshing). But overall glad to have seen.
Quiet start to the day, picked loads of dahlias that have loved the rain and are huge. I then walked down to get the papers and found a stranded American family, fresh off the plane, who’d got a puncture in Rogate. They were staying with an aunt who lived fairly locally, she was in the car but they didn’t know where to start with getting the puncture fixed (no spare). I couldn’t leave them as they had three young kids so rang Vik, ,made suggestions and found a garage who’d come out and fix it. V came down with my car, picked up the dog and I drove the Mum and kids to Corhampton. Good deed for the day.
Went to my Mum’s for lunch and to show her the wedding photos that we took, first of many I’m sure. She thoroughly enjoyed it and we went through at snail’s pace. Wished I’d taken more video.
After lunch I got my nails done in Petersfield and came home for tea and papers in the garden before heading out to the movies.
