Garden Surprises

After a rainy morning I headed outdoors to fertilize the tomatoes, pick up some wet grass (yuck) and find a blip before it started up again • While exploring the garden, I found a pumpkin! What a surprise! It’s about the size of a cantaloupe, with a second one forming; next, two gourds. The best surprise? Finding the dastardly horned tomato worm - finally!! I’ve been searching all week for him. There he was comfortably stretched out on a branch munching a tomato. I promptly relocated him, branch and all, to the woods. I wish him well, but not on my plant!! • Cheered the US Women’s soccer team on to a win over Japan in extra time this morning! • Here’s a cluster fly and a white crabby spider enjoying the newly opened buddleia bush • Peace & Love
