A Needless Blip
An early start again today - checked out of our accommodation and arrived at NEC by 08:30 and I got the train into Birmingham again. When I got there it was pouring down so I stopped in Wetherspoon’s in the station and partook of a cooked breakfast! Coffee, not beer, was my drink of choice!
I wandered around the city all morning .. not just along canals..and found this wonderful street name…perfect for the August Silly Saturday challenge.
I also discovered ‘The Golden Boys Of Birmingham’ ..see extra .. a monument depicting Matthew Boulton, James Watt and William Murdoch. They are shown studying steam engine plans. Together these three revolutionised the steam engine – the technology that would literally drive the industrial revolution.
8.4 miles walked in town today and 20k steps.
We are staying overnight in Appleby Parva (near Ashby de la Zouch) meeting up with Mrs madwill’s brother…before our journey home tomorrow.
