Up at 5.00 at 17c to get my 5k walk done. Later hoeing the compacted dust which manages to grow a profusion of grasses, succulents and a great tall thing like millet.

By 11 the house is shut down behind its shutters. Not to open again until 19:00.

This is the 19th consecutive day it has been 35C or above at Florence airport.
