Hedgehog Snack Bowl!

I was very hopeful that during the summer months I would get lots of time for dressmaking and card making, but so far events have conspired against me and each day brings new tasks which push the creative activities further down the waiting list.

This morning I did manage to start altering a dress I made last year, to make it fit me better, having recently binge watched some of the first two or three series of "The Great British Sewing Bee". (I much prefer those original series, with May Martin.) However, I had to leave it half finished because I had lots of other jobs to do, and am not sure when I’ll be able to complete it.

Meanwhile, I received a text message from our next door neighbour recently to let me know that she’d spotted a hedgehog in her back garden, heading towards our garden, on a couple of nights. Neither of us has ever seen a hedgehog in the garden before, despite having lived here over 25 years, so she rushed out to the pet shop and bought hedgehog food, and I added a ‘hedgehog feeding starter pack’ to my online order of peanuts for the birds which I was about to place.

So here you have our ‘hedgehog snack bowl and water bowl’, strategically placed beside the larger water bowl I leave out for the wildlife. All I need now is a camera at the back of the house to check on the nocturnal activity because I rather think it will be the local foxes who will avail themselves of the hedgehog food! (I'm only joking about the camera, Smithers, honestly ...)

In extras is a photo I took in 2019 of a hedgehog which had wandered into our church car park, and which one of our Atrium interns carefully took over to the Green for its own safety.
