Seeing Beyond Looking

Bread Store: Artisan Boulanger

I left home shortly after 7 am this morning because it's the coolest time of the day and I wanted to find out where one of the three Bread Stores was situated in Lausanne. This one is in the Avenue d'Ouchy and is the street which carries on right down to the lake if you follow it to the end.

It was very easy to get quite close with the metro and then I turned on my Google Map App to follow the instructions the rest of the way, about 10 minutes on foot.

I no longer eat bread as part of my daily diet, but once, or maximum twice a week, there is a savoury dish that uses bread. I made this for my lunch today: see the extra. I slice of toast, mashed avocado, olive oil, feta, lime juice and sliced cherry tomatoes, spread this on the toasted bread and top with a poached egg and salad on the side. Delicious!

The collage shows the bread store inside: the fabulous and delicious breads and (too) many delicious looking tarts and croissants, which I resisted,of course!

Look at this link which tells you about the medal winning French baker, Thomas Marie, who is behind these wonderful little boutiques:

The first photo is a photo of the same store I visited this morning.
Their apple tarts (pastry underneath and masses of fruit on top) are to die for! I resisted!

The bread I bought is sour dough with seeds.

Her entry is about a similar sort of bread store on the other side of the world!
