Somewhere cool and green and shady ..
a la John Denver!
Back to Skipton today to complete Chris’s mission successfully. No road closure or special event today but the usual Friday Market meant it was very busy. After a coffee we headed to Skipton woods behind the Castle starting at the top of the woods and in effect doing the walk back to front.
After traversing the high path we dropped down to the water, Eller Beck. No sign of the wicker work deer that was just across the bridge but we didn’t climb up the other side, the female archer at the other end of the walk was also looking worse for wear with much of it’s skirt missing.
The walk alongside the water was lovely and cool and we enjoyed watching the dog having fun in and out of the water too. We usually come in Spring when there are huge banks of Ransoms (wild garlic) not a sign of them now.
Back into town along the canal stopping for a drink in the canal basin watching people preparing to depart on the hire barges moored there and the queue for the 30 minute canal cruise.
Returning to the car I spotted two rather nice woven throws in the sale, not the weather for them really but they will lift the chairs in the conservatory now vacated by Bluebell giving them a new look.
Thank you for your good wishes yesterday, I’ve felt much less weary today and have lost that heaviness of limb.
Hope you all have a good weekend.
You can see the banks of Ransoms and the sculptures on a previous blip and extras here
