Thirsty Work For A Wasp

Another very hot day. I spend quite a bit of time by the flowers which have grown from the packet of seeds which said the plants would attract insects. I'm very surprised by how few visit. I have noticed this European paper wasp arriving in the area regularly though. It tiptoes on the duckweed and has a nice drink of pond water. Hunting must be thirsty work for it with so few of its prey around.
