Derry

A good day out in Derry.
We walked around the 17th century city walls - some of the most impressive in Europe - and of course I couldn't resist fitting in some mural images. Richard was very patient...
The main shot is a recent piece of work in the city centre, celebrating the wonderful TV series "Derry Girls". Highly recommended if you haven't seen it already.
The two extras are glimpses of history from the Bogside: Bloody Sunday, 30 January1972, and a reference to international solidarity, featuring the Republican hunger striker Bobby Sands alongside Nelson Mandela. And these days there are many Palestinian flags in evidence, alongside the Irish Tricolour.
