Element

Well this is an extremely boring pic. After my brother removed the backplate and element in my oven ten days ago and confirmed my broken-element diagnosis, I ordered a replacement. He explained how to fit it and warned me not to let the wires slip through the hole in the back of the oven. The new element arrived on Thursday but I was busy.

I wasn't busy over the weekend but wasn't feeling confident enough. I'm not fond of messing around with electricity and my hands are not as dextrous as they once were. But yesterday I found out how to remove the oven door to give myself better access and today I fitted the new element. I meant to take a proud photo of it in situ but forgot until after I'd replaced the backplate. Not for any number of unlikely hearts was I going to undo my work just to expose the element again so here, TARANTARA, is the backplate.

I know it doesn't look like it, but I did clean my freebie oven after I acquired it, just not to most people's standards. But while it was accessible, I cleaned the inside of the door today.
