Bethany shop, Leith Walk, Edinburgh

I regularly pop into Edinburgh's Bethany shops. Today I visited the one on Leith Walk. They're running a 'Retro and vintage fayre' until the weekend, so the stock is rather interesting at the moment. For example, the 1980s Frank Usher dress in the window here is priced at £30.

Also on my trip out, I returned a library book, posted a parcel, bought polenta grain, and nearly fainted at the till in Valvona and Crolla at the cost of 320g of tortellini purchased as a treat for supper tomorrow evening.

Normally I would visit the gym for a swim on a Monday morning, but I am so far behind on all sorts of household tasks (mainly administrative) I opted to stay at home to work my way down my list. I made some progress, but there is still some way to go before I will feel that I'm on top of everything.

The best news of the day is that the manuscript that I submitted to the editor of Archives on 29th March has been accepted subject to very minor revisions. Provided that I can update the paper this week, our research on audience engagement with Lorna Lloyd's Diary of the war in Blipfoto format, and as a podcast series, will be published in October.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; small amount of walking (9,848 steps).
