The Reichstag, Berlin.
One of those buildings that just oozes history. It's wonderful to visit and the glass dome and spiral footway leading to the top really is (in my view) an architectural masterpiece. To cap it all off we had breakfast on the rooftop terrace on a stunning morning looking across at the views of Berlin. One of the more famous photographs of the twentieth century was of a Red Army soldier raising the Soviet flag on the roof of the badly damaged Reichstag close to the end of the Second World War. And here we were nearly 70 years later having breakfast on the roof. One not to be missed if you are in Berlin.
