Dolly's Day

NEWCASTLE SCENES.

Another visit to The Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle this afternoon.  The film started at 3.20pm.  I got into Newcastle early so I could do some shopping in Tesco.  The busker in my blip shot was playing outside Tesco.  His voice was OK - ish but he was a very good guitarist.  I was still early for the cinema so I sat on a bench in Grey Street enjoying the warm sunshine.  Blip shot in the middle is the view from my seat. The shot on the right is the alley that leads to the cinema.  Its an independent cinema and was opened in 1937.

The film I saw was Chariots Of Fire  ( released in 1981 ) - the inspirational film about the British team of runners competing in the Paris Olympic Games of 1924. ( It was a favourite film of my late husband and the theme music by Vangelis was played at his funeral.)

When I came out of the cinema I had around 30 mins to wait for a bus home.  I had a wander around for a bit then sat on a bench in Eldon Square before heading to the bus stop.
