From India with love
Today is our 49th wedding anniversary. We'd both remembered to bring cards with us from home, so that was a good start!
We visited a large mansion called Rough Point. Newport has many such, it's a well to do community. It was the home of Doris Duke from the 1940s, and before her the Vanderbilts. The house was full of the most wonderful furniture and art works. She was a huge benefactress to the city.
In the grounds was this collection of life sized elephants, part of a touring exhibition called the Great Elephant Migration, (see link below). It's an awareness raising exercise on the need for different creatures to respect the earth as it is shared living space for all. These elephants have all been made by people living in the Nilgiri Hills, my part of India. Each is based on a real life elephant and many have been sponsored to raise money for various (some elephant themed) charities. They were very striking making their way across the ground.

We had lunch in Newport afterwards in an Italian bistro. The extra is a shot of an item in their restroom which was clearly originally designed for another use. I guess they don't want folks to use this part of the equipment. It made me smile.
Still playing catch up. Sorry
