Forgotten and Remembered

The recently forgotten sandals beside this bench that I often pass on my dog walks seemed poignant today. Accounts I've read of the incident said Jonathan handed his runners to his grandmother before running to the water saying Hang on to these Gran, I'll be back in a minute. He and another man drowned saving a couple who did survive. 
The lifeguard there today (extra) was having a quiet day thankfully.
