A day in the life

Final berry

Somehow it feels like summer is over when the growers sells out their last berries. This feeling comes from the huge focus on growing strawberries on the island, there's no summer without strawberries. The season started well over 6€ a couple of weeks before midsummer, now they are sold for 2€ but you have to find and pick them yourself in the overgrown field, there are such a lot of weeds that it's difficult to even find the strawberry plants, let alone the berries.

There's plenty of summer left though, despite the shorter days. The tourist season is at its highest and bathing temperatures are finally rising, I might go for a swim if this continues.
