Cooler still with a
chance of rain today - could we
be so lucky ? Let's hope!
I was on my way to Riverside Park downtown by 6:30. The morning traffic was already starting to build. I can skirt the construction in the downtown if I'm early enough and take the right route.
I parked by the Uji Friendship Garden to walk up the Rivers Trail where I can see the confluence and the Overlander Bridge.
On the walk back I spotted another photographer taking photos of the marmots in and around the Celtic Stones. We had a friendly chat about the antics we were watching. The marmot population here has more than doubled in the past year.
A small flock of Canada geese were wandering through the space by the tennis courts. They were strangely quiet this morning.
I had to make a quick walk around the rose garden before I left. It is harder to find perfect blossoms now. The oppressive heat we've just had seems to have taken the life out of the roses. They are looking rather bedraggled.
I filled my gas tank, picked up some breakfast and was home again by 7:30.
Our friend, the electrician, should be here this morning to fix a few more issues for us before the flooring goes in this September.
