Another Rant in the Life of a Lady

My immediate neighbourhood half a mile from the centre of Edinburgh is encased in a ring of steel barricades limiting access to both pedestrians and drivers. Not only have we got the Fringe on our doorstep in George Sauare, we have the Book Festival being set up in the grounds of EFI just across the road with tent erections on the newly laid turf.  I have never seen so many yellow coats and hard hats at work.
It felt like walking through a labyrinth of steel passage ways to get to the shops. I was only too delighted to return the long way round through the Meadows, wander through the community garden and wonder that the apple trees still have fruit on them. It is amazing that no child has felt the scrumping urge.

I have chosen to blip the community garden but have added the alternative view of my ‘ hood’ in the extra.
