On the top of Raise
An epic day in the mountains traversing the ridge between Clough Head and Dollywaggon Pike taking in 9 summits, 14 miles and 5000 feet of ascent. Five new Wainwrights for me and 8 for Susan.
The pint (and a half) at the Traveller’s Rest went down a treat chased by bags of crisps. We caught the bus back to Keswick then went back to collect the car from the start.
Felt surprisingly good. Not walked so far or with so much ascent ever (as far I can remember). The legs performed admirably and delivered what was required of them and more.
An easier day tomorrow. The only one who was not feeling the effects was the dog Brody who must have covered twice the distance and ascent
