Canalside

A rest day for orienteering so we all decided on a bike ride along the canal towards Brecon. We didn’t know what to expect but really enjoyed the ride.

The canal was quite busy with hired boats in both directions. There was quite a queue when we met a series of lock gates. Everyone was very patient and seemed to be using the opportunity to chat and compare notes on their experiences. 

We had a short diversion to obtain refreshments before retracing our steps. There was the option of the road but that had a lot more undulations. Pleased that the knee was happy on the bike. Especially as we covered over 50 km albeit with a number of pit stops for photography. The helmsman of this boat wanted to know if I had captured his best side!
