Tuesday: Wildlife in the Garden

Following a night of heavy rain, we woke up to sunshine and just a little bit of warmth too, temperature around 20°C for most of day :-)

In the garden this morning were:
Speckled Wood, Small White and Large White butterflies, late afternoon there was a very “fresh” Magpie moth in the greenhouse, maybe just “hatched” - I moved it outside into the garden.
Lots of Carder bees on the dainty small mauve scabious which is new this year, the Cotoneaster in front garden full of bumblebees, honeybees and wasps and marmalade hoverflies.
Song thrush, loads of midges (good news for the swallows and house martins)
Blue tits hanging upside down on the Weigela feasting on the greenfly
Dunnock eating Meconopsis cambrica seeds this evening and a dozen or more swallows and house martins.

Today’s Blip is of a very busy Carder Bee, the blue Borage flowers and the Magpie Moth.

Loads of love and hugs to all my family / Cariad Mawr
