Summer nights - Hyde Park

More marking today and admin. Free to stop for the day just after 4pm so I headed into the city. I was not coping in my hot black box - it was stifling. It made the Victoria Line feel cool and fresh. If you know, you know..
I walked from Hyde Park corner to Kensington Palace, going along Rotten Row then deeper into the park. People were enjoying the warm evening, on deck chairs, on rugs. It was a lovely atmosphere. I then took a bus to Baker St tube and went to Shakeshuka for dinner, a simple but busy restaurant with a chatty host who does lots of fundraising. I was well looked after when I said how I knew about the restaurant. I miss Arab hospitality - tonight was a reminder.
