Büyük
Big.
The Galata Tower, again, from another direction. The final night in Istanbul and the streets were warm and heaving. This is the largest city in Europe, but that fact is often overlooked due to Istanbul’s position straddling two continents. It dwarfs the likes of London by several million and is also the fifteenth largest city in the world, which is staggering. This is why the sister and I have been walking twenty kilometres to check out a few sights. And it’s also why there is such a dynamic, buzzing vibe that will certainly draw me back.
The sibling had to leave by Sunday afternoon so I enjoyed a solo evening taking in the sights, sounds and crowds. My time off work is almost over, a fact I am trying to deny.
