Destination Buffelsvermaak

Taking advantage of unusually warm Winter weather, Heather and I are spending the night at BVM, the rustic cottage situated at the far end of our farm. We had to cross the river with all our goods using the pont. As I was heaving the (very heavy) pont out of the mud, my wellies filled up with water. All my efforts to move the (still very heavy) pont seemed to produce no results; finally I realised my chances of success would improve if I untied the pont from the tree first.
Right now we are sitting on the verandah looking into Heather's feisty fire as we munch on an odd assortment of food. It's immensely restful here. Be jealous!
