Rudbeckia

The Rudbeckia don't seem to mind the lack of rain. They are, after all, a member of the sunflower family and are sometimes called Black-eyed Susan.  The flower's name likely comes from a popular ballad penned by English poet John Gay (1685-1732). Black-Eyed Susan told the sad story of a crying, lovelorn woman who boards a ship to bid her sailor farewell.  I mostly only plant drought tolerant plants.  The forecasters are saying we will get some rain on Tuesday.  I hope they are right.  A cool morning and it is such a relief to not have to get up and turn the ac's on.
