Bus Pass Walk

Backblip for Tuesday 16/7.  The forecast was for heavy rain from mid-morning, so we caught 2 buses into Leeds and slighted at the Art Gallery for refreshments at the Tiled Cafe. First thing we spotted was a tray of Pastei de nata, so a few of us gave in to temptation :-).  The weather was still dry when we emerged so we decided to go for a walk down to the wharf and a little way along the canalside before heading for Social Folk for lunch. Main photo is one of the old banks, now a bar.  Old and new very much alongside each other in Leeds.  The earthworks by the station are quite dramatic.  We spotted a giant tap and a Monopoly sign being set up for a Monopoly trail later in the month (extra). Could be fun to follow.  My pastel de nata had given me heartburn (I know pastry does that to me so should have known better!). A wonderful salad bowl at Social Folk (lots of chilli though!) and a lovely "5 a day" smoothie. Far too full!  Walked back towards the centre for the first of 2 buses home.  As we went through Kirkstall the heavens opened.  Luckily by the time we got back to the village the rain had stopped so we could walk home and stay dry.
