Watching athletics

Today we went to the London Stadium to watch the Diamond League event. This is the view from our seat which was very good. I booked the tickets last September in priority booking but they were not expensive. We had a great view of the womens pole vault which went on for the whole afternoon. Unfortunately the British girl was only fourth although she has cleared higher than the winner and is a medal contender at the Olympics. A very good afternoon and no rain, but it was very humid! Good to see some of the promising British athletes , let’s hope some of them get medals at the Olympics.

After the event we went into one of the new buildings near the stadium. A new V and A building is being constructed plus a BBC building. However the UAL ( University of the Arts London) building is finished and in use. We went inside to see the free display of the end of year work of the graduates there. Some very whacky work …pro types of shoes and boots, ‘accessories ‘ which including. Strange shaped bags, belt and hats and also some protheses for use in theatre work. See extra.

Very busy on the train to/ from Stratford.
