Apt Advice
We had coffee at our 'summer venue', Cafe Frida. It's in the Arts District and this must be an installation as I'm pretty sure it isn't official. I love the 'relaxing' pole that holds up the sign. It was a good start to the day as Mamadou brought 'puppaccinos' for Spike and Trixie (extra). I worked so well that Spike didn't have to go to the car at all until it was time to leave.
If you don't want to read a rant about the frustrations of the day, skip to the last sentence.
We stopped by Walgreens on the way home to get Covid test kits but they are out of them and don't know if/when they will get any more. We're ok so far and have decided that thanks to vaccines it is no longer life threatening (remember those days?) and actually fairly mild for most people who get it. We plan to treat it the same way as we would the flu if we are unlucky.
Our secondary homeowners policy will not be renewed next year, and we read through a massive pile of mostly incomprehensible prose sent us by the California Fair Plan of last resort which carries our primary fire insurance because our insurer of 40 years didn't renew us last year. I saved one page not because it was informative, but because it was such a good example of bureaucratic doublespeak. It is impossible to read! and I minored in English in college. We decided the majority of the pile did not even pertain to us. I would publish an example of what I'm referring to but I wouldn't want to cause any more headaches.
John's doctor's receptionist, or nurse, or somebody phoned to say that the doctor had ordered a CT scan and an MRI. Presumably this is based on the missing report which magically turned up, but there was no explanation of what it said or why the doctor was ordering the tests. John said no...not until he has some sort of communication with the doctor. I hope that doesn't mean another 8am appointment.
No word at all from the endodontist re my x-ray report. I'm giving up on that one.
I got my hair cut today and had a good bitch with Amy, the hairdresser, about the sad state of our medical system. I refuse to even think about the frightening state of our politics now that Trump has announced that his life was spared because God was on his side. Give me a break.
OK...rant over. It is Friday and time for a medicinal glass or two of wine
