On This Day

Goat's Rue

Galega officinalis

I'm sure that this is a wildflower - so thank you Miranda as always - though it's one I grow deliberately in my garden. It doesn't really serve any purpose other than to look pretty. It's a hardy perennial and part of the pea family.

I'm pushed for time today as my niece, her husband and two sons arrive this afternoon. They've travelled all the way from Maastricht via Sussex to stay for a week. They are going to be our trusty house sitters as we head off tomorrow. More of that anon.

I'm cooking, cleaning, packing and generally readying things for our visitors. Our adult children - my niece's cousins - will be providing entertainment while we're away and our neighbours' sons are on standby to take my great nephews out and about.

Must dash and carry on with prep!
