'One can see the beach from one's terrace....'

We have spent an amazing day at Osborne House in East Cowes, the country home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. And this is the view from the terrace, looking out to their own private beach with Portsmouth in the distance. An Estate Agent would have a field day writing the spec for this residence!

The beach was just as Albert described it..'we have our own Italian Riviera!' (not an exact quote, exactly...). And whilst taking in the view ourselves we enjoyed a mint chocolate waffle ice cream and more sunshine on this the last day of our holiday. It's been more than good.
