Day10 Köln to Duisburg, 84km. We walked about 10 mins to a place in Köln for breakfast, our hotel wanted 24 Euro per person! Nice warm morning, and mainly pleasant cycling. First stop was an amazing fortified village called Zons. Had a v old mill, we had A quick coffee there, the carried on to Neuss, where we stopped off at my bosses place for lunch near Düsseldorf. The blip is of me with his wife, she kindly showed us the easy way back to the Rhein.
We wanted to have a bit of a look around Düsseldorf, but suddenly there was extremely strong gusts, and the heavens opened, we had to search for some shelter for 30 mins. It was still raining when we set off. I booked a room in Duisburg, some parts were nice, but where we cycled through, really didn’t feel safe. It was a great hotel with high security for the bikes. It was pretty late, but I found a nice place to eat, a beer brewery and restaurant about 10 mins away.
