Still stormy but it doesn’t detract from my genius

Ahem!

Spent the morning determined to work out the bug that stopped me from uploading information to the website I am currently working off for the New Zealand group. In the end, it was sufficient to not follow the instructions provided at all and to proceed with a “trial and error” approach. Seriously beginning to wonder if the hassle is worth it with this job: I’ve been working on “mates’ rates” for almost 20 years now. I know the economy is not the greatest out in NZ at the moment, but still…

Having spent a couple of hours on that and actually doing some work, I ran a few errands before settling down to start a book review I have been asked to do. The book in question is Sí, señor, the (auto)biography of Roberto Firmino. How can an autobiography not be an autobiography? When it is not only ghostwritten, but ghostwritten in another language. I’ve no doubt that Firmino’s hands are all over it – but, 75 pages in, I am still frustrated and waiting to see what he is all about. So far, it’s been a deep dive into the banal.

Early evening, despite the warnings of a massive thunder storm and biblical rain (sorry, I am getting into Firmino territory again), Ottawacker Jr. had his football practice. Given the humidity and dark clouds gathering, I decided to stay at the ground and wait, lest the portents prove true and he needed to be airlifted to safety. The portents didn’t prove true. The clouds lifted instead, so I carried my book and note pad to the park and sat at a picnic table while Team White played against Team Black.

Home to dinner, where Ottawacker Jr. managed to spill oil over a recently re-upholstered chair. Sí, señor.
