Thankfully the thunderstorms had passed by the time I walked across the valley to Thackley for some more pre-season football. The paths through Buck Wood were showing all the signs of the severe downpurs we’d had during the afternoon.

Liversedge were this evening’s visitors, resplendent in orange stripes. A strong first half from Thackley saw them go into the break with a 2-0 lead. Higher ranked Liversedge applied a lot of pressure in the second half, but Thackley held firm. 2-0 it finished, a good result against a team from the league above.
