Our village Deli
It was warm this morning so I got the washing out. Even though it was sunny, I took it in before we went to Morpeth and just as well as it was bucketing when we got back.
Lynne, a very good cook, and Gavin, are coming tomorrow to eat with us. I always like to treat them to something tasty, usually from Guardian Feast as they get the Times. Mr C was detailed to buy the necessary ingredients but had a very unsatisfactory food shop while I was at the hairdresser so I popped in to our deli on the way home for sourdough and believe it or not, they had the quail eggs I wanted for the Lithuanian pink soup. Who needs Waitrose!!
The blip is the deli window, still set up for the Traditional Music Festival we had at the weekend.
I have not yet confessed to the purchase of a new dress. It’s very pretty, floral on a black background with silver sparkles. It looks a bit girly but I’ll wear it with my black leather jacket and black patent (with suede bits) ankle boots I got in the second hand (loath the word pre-loved) shop - Russell and Bromley £37.
Apparently the quail eggs were “laid with love”.
