Bits and pieces

B had a dental hygienist appointment this morning. I went with him and lounged on one of the enormous settees, trying desperately not to slide off!!.

U3A craft this afternoon. The lady sitting next to me was making a sock rabbit which I had prepared earlier. The one on the table is my demonstration model.

After dinner I had a surprise telephone call from an old friend, who was the staff nurse on my ward when I was a ward sister at Worcester Royal Infirmary in the early 1970’s. 

After all the memories that were stirred up yesterday with the football,  there were many more today. I have been in touch with her in the intervening years as we belonged to the Nurses League. I last saw her at the AGM in 2022. 

We don’t have the website these days, B & I used to manage it, so we are not up to date on the news. All we get from the present committee is the occasional email with details of obituaries. She was wondering if we were well settled in Uttoxeter.
