A joyful day

Indoors all day, a mix of watching tv and sorting out essential but boring stuff. 

The football is on the tele tonight. I never follow football these days, but as England have got to the finals of the Euros, this is an essential for me. I remember when we last won in 1966. 

I was a newly qualified staff nurse on a children’s surgical and orthopaedic ward. It was sister’s weekend off, so I was in charge. In those days there was a small tv on a shelf on the wall with a 19” screen (I think). We had fun. 

This has brought back so many happy memories of that day and the rest of a memorable year. 

I’m posting this before the end of the game as I’m not sure what this outcome will be.
