Let’s DO This!

Backstory: It appeared that the kitchen faucet was leaking, so we replaced the sprayer head, and all was well for awhile. It just unscrews—we got off easy. But there was still the occasional bit of stray water under the sink, then more and more of it: the garbage disposal seemed to be dripping. Just to round it off, the soap dispenser never did sit right and there was a puddle of liquid detergent beneath it.
Okay, so just take it all out. Just start over please. There was a time when I would have at least tried—I do still have my big shiny yellow copy of the Readers Digest How To Fix Everything book. But those days are long gone. Now I knit chickens while Rome burns. I think it was perhaps a harder job than the plumber envisioned; there was a lot of grunting and, surprisingly, actual muttered cursing, although I wasn’t meant to hear it. But we have a shiny new faucet, a new soap thingy that screws together perfectly, and a new garbage disposal that doesn’t sound like it’s grinding a handful of nuts and bolts. I’d say we’re good for a lifetime on kitchen plumbing issues. Next?!
