Birthday Witch

The day started fine but it's raining hard now. Even so, it didn't put us off driving to The Grange at Asfordby Hill for my birthday lunch. Pleasantly warm but humid.

I had chilli con carne with cheese on crispy potato wedges. The potato defeated me in the end. Perhaps I should have stuck to a small portion of tartiflette although the cold meats would also have defeated me.

The photo shows my witch hairs growing out of my chin. Can't get rid of them whatever I try. It also shows a glimpse of the wonderful display of flowering plants in the garden centre in the background.

We bought cake on the way out. I can't finish my GF St Clement cake (orange and lemon). Also two pots of lavender and a red Alstromeria. We have an orange one in the garden that blooms all summer.

My t-shirt. must be at least ten years old. It dates from the Gothla years when I was a key member of the organising team and often spent my birthday there. I'm very proud of it.
