Just the Withers......

Walking the Highline …

Down into Chelsea market . It was just Jim and me because the children were so hot , the temperature had risen significantly on Sunday to 36 degrees and the city is experiencing another heat wave. With the heat bouncing off the high rise buildings it feels even hotter . Moonie took them back to the hotel in a taxi .
We were all flagging anyway and my eyes stung from the gritty air .
Jim and I were chatting about NYC , I don’t think we will ever go back . We wouldn’t have gone again this time but we did it to help Moonie out and we didn’t mind at all because it was lovely 90% of the time . The trauma of keeping the children away from the negative side of it though was exhausting.
I’m not complaining about the displaced people, no one deliberately sets out to turn into an addict I don’t care what anyone says it creeps up on you and then it’s too late , no one chooses to have mental illnesses either and the amount of homeless with glaringly obvious symptoms is unbelievably sad . Having said that we actually witnessed a couple being arrested because they were violent on the streets. The welfare system isn’t like ours in the UK .
Apart from that we entertained the babies and they absolutely loved it and for me that’s all I wanted .
Moonie asked if we would be up for other trips and I have said gladly but maybe a bit closer in flight times ??
