Dancing Ledge
The morning’s first task was heading to Poole to collect a mountain bike, S and P’s birthday present for A. One delighted boy.
Later we headed out to Purbeck and Langton Matravers for a walk down to Dancing Ledge. S was hoping to see a puffin, this is the only place on the south coast where they breed. Only three pairs this year, and we didn’t see them - I suspect the pufflings have fledged. Plenty of people around too on a warm and sunny Sunday, including lots of children in wet suits and hard hats out for a bit of well organised coastal dipping.
A very late lunch at the Crown and Compass at Worth Matravers, everyone sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and spectacular scenery. A pub with an eccentric fossil and finds museum attached.
The TV was on for the football, but dinner and distractions (including a hedgehog making an appearance) meant it wasn’t the centre of our attention this evening.
I’ve added a few extras.
