Vive La France

To commemorate the storming of the Bastille in Paris in 1789, which started the French Revolution (I’ve seen Les Miserable),  I thought I would pop down to our county town of Haddington which has links to France … yes, a tenuous connection I know.

Since 1965, Haddington has been twinned with Aubigny sur Nère in Centre-Val de Loire.

Haddington is also home to the East Lothian Pétanque Club, who were enthusiastically playing this afternoon.

The church is the Collegiate church of St. Mary with some lavender in the foreground… I suspect that is English rather than French lavender.though.

Anyway, I hope you have had a good Sunday.
