From my archives
It rained lots and thus I worked in Lightroom with pictures from my files.
It's the interior of an old Byzantine chapel covered in frescoes, one in the extra too. This little chapel named "The Holy Church of the Savior" is old, and most of its frescoes too; some have May 15th 1303 as date noted and the names of Michael Veneris and Theodoros Daniël, who were known fresco painters at that time. Then Crete was occupied by the Venetians and ruled by them (1204-1669).
The two painters belonged to the Veneris family, who seemed to be in charge of a wandering group of artisans, which was mainly active at the Western part of Crete, at the period of late 13th C and early 14th C.
This little Byzantine chapel is one of my favorites on Crete, putting it this way... I realize, I hardly can make a choice actually.
