Historical Afternoon

We thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the newly expanded Cleveland History Center.

The highlight for me was riding the Euclid Beach Park grand carousel that I rode as a very young child many moons ago. It’s been totally restored and looks brand new.

In the extras are shots from the Fashion After Dark exhibit of stunning gowns and accessories worn during evenings in gaslight and early electricity. We toured the beautiful combined Hay-McKinley mansion.

The second extra shows Superman, Chief Wahoo, and Neil Armstrong’s space suit in the main lobby. (The new Superman movie is being shot downtown disrupting traffic. Superman was created in CLE).

We finished with a quick twirl downstairs through the Crawford Auto Museum where we were surprised to learn of a number of former Cleveland automakers. Lots of antique cars and motorcycles.
