A Day In The Life

Happy Dances

I was focused on this flower longhorn beetle when guess who made an appearance? The great golden digger wasp, or Goldie for short! It’s one of my favorite summer insects and this is the first I’ve spotted. Neither are harmful, by the way. The first happy dance of the day :) • Then, while filling a bird feeder under the cherry tree (really, it’s a squirrel feeder) I glanced up the hill to the butterfly bed and saw orange!! I rushed to the house for the camera. Yes, it was indeed a monarch butterfly, the first of the season! It didn’t stay long but we’re thrilled! The second happy dance of the day :) • Lastly, and best of all, the wonderful news blipped by newexperiments today. Another happy dance!! • Oh, what a day!
