Berry Picker
After I finished a few chores outside MrsP wanted to take a ride to the post office, so I brought my camera and we headed for cobbosseecontee stream. The kingbirds were busy catching insects mid-air while song sparrows provided background music. The rest of the crew was there too: robins and cedar waxwings. I don’t know what kind of bushes they are but the waxwings were plucking and swallowing what looks to be unripe berries • We were visited by not-dear deer last night, most likely Snortin’ Sally. She finished off the hosta plants, then moved on to the butterfly garden to devour every blossom on the two aster plants, plus another plant that was on the verge of blooming. Bad Bad Sally!! • Another hot and humid day but dry. Changes are on the way tomorrow…
