The fledgling gull
It’s another grey wet day. I spent the morning making a spinach and mushroom lasagne and also a Tuscan White lasagne which has courgette and sausages in it. I also made the cake the children like to have on #1 daughter’s birthday. She’d have been 53 and so happy about the election result.
Ella aged 12 has a holiday ‘job’ - perfect for her. Feeding the cat for people on the next street. I expect she’ll spend a bit of time petting it too. She had an excellent school report. She’s on target for all her subjects but the highlight was her form tutor’s remarks about how she’s a fun, enthusiastic and hard-working pupil. She’s thoughtful, trustworthy and caring, brightening up form time with her kindness to classmates who struggle. She’s generous and mature and thinks of others before herself. And more on a similar vein. What a perceptive teacher!
Nathaniel is doing well too and his talent for drama and sports was mentioned as well as him being very articulate and contributing well to class discussions. (No reports yet for Thomas and James).
The gull still hasn’t flown off #2 daughter’s roof. This is a picture from yesterday of it flapping!
It’s the traditional music festival here this weekend. #3 daughter is bringing her two tonight after Nathaniel has been to a party. The others will come in time for the ceilidh dancing in the village hall. Ella and Nathaniel loved it last year. I hope the others enjoy it too.
