Nohut and me

Nohut is my (annual) charge and companion whilst I am here in Istanbul, living on campus in the apartment that she shares with Alex and family.  She does an impressive impersonation of grumpy old (wo)man. At sixteen, I guess she's earned the right. She is also extremely affectionate and is never far away from me. Two old ladies - we creak and groan away the evenings together.

Today was the last class for this first session of the summer academy programme and we had a presentation for parents, I made a small exhibition of my student's work, had the inevitable teacher-powerpoint from two weeks of photographs and the participants received certificates. It was all over by 13.00.

Once 'home' and showered on this particularly hot and sticky day, I abandoned plans to go shopping and instead passed the entire afternoon and evening with Nohut, Netflix and embroidery.
